Course Integration and Closing Ceremony of Certificate Course on Hospital Quality Improvement (CCHQI) Batch 5

On the 3rd of November 2023, the Course Integration and Closing Ceremony of the CCHQI Batch 5 was held via Zoom. The program was divided into two parts and organized by the Health Governance and Social Protection Cluster (HGSPC) of the Development Academy of the Philippines - Graduate School of Public and Development Management (DAP-GSPDM).

The first part, the Course Integration was spearheaded by the Faculty-in-Charge (FIC) of the course, Dr. Maria Linda G. Buhat. Dr. Buhat synthesized the entire three months' worth of the course's learning experience.

To end the first part of the program, the faculty of the CCQHI Batch 5, Dr. Norma Lange-Tagaza and Dr. Madeleine Valera delivered their heartfelt messages and farewell to the co-learners. 

The second part of the program was opened by Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, Dean of the Graduate School of Public and Development Management. She delivered her message encouraging the new batch graduates to champion the cause of quality health care and emphasized that with DAP-GSPDM they could strengthen the country’s healthcare system, working towards universal healthcare access to all Filipinos.

Following the Dean’s message, Dr. Kenneth G. Ronquillo, MPMH, CESO III, Undersecretary of Health Governance and Organizational Development Team Department of Health, delivered his keynote address. Dr. Ronquillo underscored the great responsibility and forthcoming challenges that the graduates will face as they strive towards the improvement of healthcare delivery equipped with their new knowledge and skills gained from the course.

After Dr. Ronquillo’s message, Dr. Montserrat S. Chichioco, Ms. Reina Jo C. Eresmas, and Ms. Clelia B. Alejandro, shared their unique and personal stories of learning experiences, knowledge gained, and the challenges they overcame as they completed the CCHQI. 

Ms. Maria Felicidad F. Billedo, Program Manager of the Health Governance and Social Protection Cluster of the GSPDM, led the awarding of certificates to the 37 new graduates of the course. The momentous event ended with Dr. Buhat expressing on behalf of the faculty their congratulations and deepest appreciation for all the graduates’ hard work and sacrifices.
