Welcoming Ceremony and Opening Program of the Certificate Course on Hospital Quality Improvement (CCHQI)

On the 24th of November 2023, 34 new healthcare professionals and practitioners from various Department of Health Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Facilities throughout the country entered into the Certificate Course on Hospital Quality Improvement organized by the Health Governance and Social Protection Cluster (HGSPC) of the Development Academy of the Philippines-Graduate School of Public and Development Management (DAP-GSPDM).

The program started with the introduction to the graduate school and CCHQI faculty by HGSPC Program Manager, Ms. Maria Felicidad Billedo. The CCHQI Faculty are revered public health experts that have extensive knowledge on the improvement of hospital and patient care quality. They are Dr. Bien Eli Nillos, faculty-in-charge, Dr. Maria Linda Buhat, Dr. Norma Lange-Tagaza, and Dr. Madeleine Valera.

After the introductions, Mr. Mark Rex Jayson Atole, Learning Manager for the course, briefed all co-learner’s on the school’s academic rules, online session guidelines, and virtual house rules.   

Unfortunately, due to network connectivity issues, the Dean of DAP-GSPDM, Dr. Lizan E. Perante Calina was unable to deliver her address personally with Ms. Billedo delivering both the welcoming and closing message for the program on her behalf.

After a short break, the program continued on with Dr. Nillos giving an introduction to the course. He provided an interactive and dynamic approach in providing an overview of the program to the co-learners prior to the official start of the class.

After Dr. Nillos, Dr. Buhat provided an overview of the pre-work of the first session. And to end the program the co-learner’s watched a video orientation to the graduate school’s learning management system, iGNITE, provided by Razza Consulting Inc.
