22 April 2022 - The DAP Graduate School, through its Research Program, has engaged various Research Fellows in conducting researches on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Futures Thinking.
On its third year, the GSPDM Research Program pivoted its structure into producing functional, practical and innovative outputs that can be utilized by the public and private sector.
True to its purpose, GSPDM Research Fellows Ms. Hannah Gonzalez and Ms. Alexa Brillantes, both an alumni of the National University of Singapore (NUS) presented their research study entitled “Commercial Development Landscapes: An Emerging Model for Non-Traditional Urban Parks and Open Spaces" during the special session of the Master in Public Management Online Batch 2.
Aside from tackling SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, they also explained particularly the importance of green and open spaces (GOS) and likewise heeded that GOS in the local landscape should not only be for aesthetic purposes but for necessity.
More research outputs of this kind are targeted to be completed this year.

05 April 2022 - The Development Academy of the Philippines-Graduate School of Public and Development Management (DAP-GSPDM) and the Naval Officer School Center (NOSC) of the Philippine Navy held an exploratory meeting to discuss the possibility of a twinning program catering to its officers in training. The Dean of the DAP-GSPDM, Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina welcomed the NOSC officials and thanked them for their high regard on the programs of the Graduate School.
Capt Dominic M Tulen PN (GSC), the acting superintendent of the Naval Officer Candidate School and a Master in Public Management major in Development and Security Batch 13 alumnus, expressed his interest for an academic program that will integrate foundational modules on public management and research, as well as, maritime safety and security modules in its Naval Staff Course and Naval Command Course, respectively.
In response, the DAP Graduate School’s Security Governance and Diplomacy Cluster (SGDC) Program Manager, Ms. Alyn Joy D. Baltazar, gave an overview of its offered programs and certificate courses. The Graduate School expressed its willingness to select and customize its specialized courses to best fit the NOSC’s curriculum, needs, and expectations.
Aside from Capt Tulen and the SGDC Learning Management Team, the meeting was attended by LTC Kristine B Salon PN (M), Cpt Danilo G Boquilla Jr PN (M), LT Cherrie S Sacatrapos PN, LTJG Ryan Jay F Cabinta PN, and LTJG Benjie T Orjalo PN.
Further communications and meetings will be held in the succeeding months to finalize the curriculum and schedule of the customized program followed by the drafting of a memorandum of agreement.
