CC HQI holds its third batch for health practitioners
March 18, 2022 - The DAP Graduate School in collaboration with the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health’s Teaching Unit (HIGH-TU), conducted the Welcome Ceremony and Opening Program for the Certificate Course on Hospital Quality Improvement (CC HQI) Batch 3, 5:30-7:30 PM, via Zoom. The course is offered to health professionals and practitioners assigned to different public hospitals in the country.
The virtual event was graced by Dr. Olaf Horstick, Heidelberg Institute of Global Health - Teaching Unit, University of Heidelberg, Germany; Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, Dean of the DAP Graduate School; and Dr. Pretchell Tolentino, Officer-in-Charge, Director IV, Health Human Resource Development Bureau, Department of Health. Also present were CC HQI Faculty Dr. Norma Lange-Tagaza, Dr. Sylvia Sax, Dr. Maria Linda Buhat, and Dr. Bien Eli Nillos.
The course aims to equip co-learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure that health services are effective, safe, and focused on the needs of the patient; offer co-learners the opportunity to analyze the complexity of health systems and how quality improvement initiatives could strengthen health systems; and teach co-learners quality improvement tools and their application to analyzing problems, searching for solutions, and implementing programs in their respective settings.
The course will utilize the iGSPDM Nexus of Information Technology and Education (iGNITE) and Zoom as online platforms. It will run every Friday, 5:30 PM-8:30 PM (PST), from March 25-June 10, 2022.

DAP Graduate School Holds Class Orientation for MPM DevSec Batch 19
9 March 2022 – The Academy’s Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM), through its Security Governance and Diplomacy Cluster (SGDC), held the Class Orientation for the members of the Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) Class 71 who would like to enroll in the Master in Public Management major in Development and Security (MPM-DevSec) Batch 19.
Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, Dean of the DAP Graduate School, welcomed the academic counterparts from the CGSC, the roster of Faculty in-Charge (FIC), and the DevSec co-learners to the program. She then introduced the DAP Graduate School to the co-learners and showed the various concepts behind the overarching framework of Development and Security.
Ms. Alyn Joy D. Baltazar, SGDC Program Manager, presented the Program Curriculum and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). Thereafter, the FICs, Dr. Ma. Oliva Z. Domingo, Dr. Rosalie A. Hall, Dr. Enrico L. Basilio, Dr. Mark Joseph T. Calano, Dr. Chester B. Cabalza, and Prof. Sheryll Grace Aromin, all shared words of encouragement to the co-learners.
Mr. Anthony Julius Bayona, Admission Officer of the Office of the Academy Registrar, briefed the co-learners regarding the admission process, the important forms to be filled out, and the documentary requirements for submission. It was followed by an open forum to respond to the questions of the co-learners.
For twelve consecutive years (2009-present), the DAP Graduate School and CGSC AFPETDC, through the MPM DevSec Program, have worked together to enhance the competencies of future leaders in the military. To date, the program has produced 1,896 graduates from the different branches of service of the AFP and allied countries.

Batch 5 of the Master in Public Management major in Health Systems and Development (MPM HSD) will hold its first Continuing Education (CE) session on March 30 to April 29, 2022, covering two Core Courses:
1. Public Management: Theories, Principles & Innovations (PM: TPI)
2. Philippine Administrative System & Governance (PASG)
MPM HSD Regular Batch 5 will use the revitalized MPM HSD curriculum.
